In high school, if you take either Spanish or French it will help you with Italian. I think French would be even closer to Italian (French "parler" and Italian "parlare" but Spanish "hablar" for "to speak"). I took 3 semesters of Spanish, and 2 semesters of Italian, and now I can read a lot of things in French, without having studied French a day in my life. Good luck! Yep, both colleges offer Italian.
